Quantitative research
Using carefully structured and standardised questionnaires to capture and measure the views of large numbers of respondents this type of research allows us to project results onto the wider population with a high degree of statistical certainty.
The more people who are interviewed the more robust and representative the results will be. Sample sizes can vary from a minimum of around one hundred to thousands of respondents, dependant upon budget, timescale and the data collection method chosen. The larger the number of respondents, the more viable it is to analyse the results by different sub-groups. We use a number of different methods for collecting quantitative data including:
- Street interviews
- Exit interviews
- In-store interviews
- In-home interviews
- Online interviews
- Postal and email surveys
- Telephone interviews
- Staff completion audits
We have no preference for any one particular method, but in consultation with our clients will choose the most effective depending on such factors as the subject matter being researched, sample profile, timescales and budgets.
